Reason #1968 to vote "NO" for McCain

America cannot afford more of the same.

America cannot afford to continue Bush's administration.

America cannot afford to continue Bush's war.

America cannot allow our military men and women
to continue paying the price for our ignorance.

Ask yourself:

How can we continue to fund the war, but not the casualties?

How can we continue to allow defense contractors to profit even beyond their OWN expectations? Especially after all of the misuse of the funds they've been given so far?

How can we pretend that the war in Iraq is about OIL and not 9/11?

How can we allow the war based upon lies to continue for the next ten years?

How can we continue to demand we "win" in Iraq... when we can't even define "win", are NOT winning, and have never even been CLOSE to winning?

How can we continue to send our damaged and broken soldiers back to the war zone? (At least the ones who haven't committed suicide...)

How can we continue to allow this administration to lie to us and bury information?

How can we continue to pretend that the financial and human price that we are paying for the war in Iraq is keeping America safe?

How can we afford the price we will be paying (and NEED to pay) to take care of our veterans?

How can we continue to say the surge is working when our troops still can't come home and are still being killed at alarming numbers?

How can we even consider a "pause" in troop reductions... haven't we been lied to enough?

How can we continue to deny that we are in another Vietnam?

How can we even THINK about starting another war?
When will America say "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!"?
In November 2008... VOTE OBAMA!

I just wish he'd kiss me first...

WARNING: If you are sensitive to suggestive/racy/risque videos, do NOT watch this! They don't "show" anything but it is VERY suggestive.

That being said, it's pretty funny... in a sad sad way.

Thanks, Lane at News For The Left, for sharing this!

Can't even monitor THEMSELVES...

Should the United States be concerned when the Department of Homeland Security cannot even protect American children from their own employees?

Hailey, Idaho (April 12, 2006):
Employee of Transportation Security Administration (part of Homeland Security) was arrested for 2nd degree kidnapping after an incident with a 10 year old boy. He was found with several birthdates and SSNs.

Homeland Security official arrested in pedophile sting The deputy press secretary for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security was arrested Tuesday for using the Internet to seduce what he thought was a teenage girl, authorities said. Brian J. Doyle, 55, was arrested at his residence in Maryland on charges of use of a computer to seduce a child and transmission of harmful material to a minor. The charges were issued out of Polk County, Fla." (04/05/06)

How about that federal agent with the Department of Homeland Security who was busted on Dateline: Predator III?

Let me see if I understand... this is the department who we trust to recognize what constitutes a "terrorist", but we don't expect them to do background checks or other security clearance procedures for their own employees?

Yeah, I feel safer now...

Knock, Knock, Big Brother is at the door with pizza...

Do you think that our country will ever get to the point where the experience of ordering pizza will sound like this?

Well, I didn't think we'd have a current administration like we have now either. From our libraries to our medical records to our internet to our shopping habits to our phone lines... I think "identity THEFT" is the least of our problems.

Kissin' a** achieves more than a brown nose...

This is not just an Idaho issue... Americans who are concerned about how this administration nominates "qualified" (?) individuals to cabinet/Supreme Court/etc. posts and comes up with questionable programs for solving our health care, economy, education, environment, and homeland security issues should pay CLOSE attention to the current nomination of Idaho's own "Governor Rogaine" (loved that name!) to the position of Interior Secretary.

Keep in mind that this is the same administration who accomplished the following (thank you to Make Them Accountable):
Inexperienced 28-Year-Old Bush Staffer Appointed to Critical Homeland Security Post
The Bush administration has appointed 28-year-old former White House staffer Doug Hoelscher as the executive director of the Homeland Security Advisory Committees.
In his new position, Hoelscher will gather expert advice “on behalf of the president and the Homeland Security secretary” from 20 other advisory boards covering “key areas of homeland security, including threats to infrastructure and preventing terrorist attacks that use weapons of mass destruction.” His experience?

Hoelscher has no management experience, a review of his professional credentials shows. He came to government in 2001 as a low-level White House staffer, arranging presidential travel, according to news reports. He earned $30,000 a year, salary documents show…
But back to Kempthorne...

Idaho bloggers and others are expressing their concerns and opinions... I won't pretend to know enough about the issues to write more here--that would be redundant and foolish! However, I do encourage all Americans to pay attention to this nomination... become informed and share your opinions with others--including YOUR representatives and senators! I would like to also pass on this reading recommendation:
"Go to www.freemarketduck.com and order their recent book, "BOISE'S WATERGATE: University Place and All the Governor's Men". It details (in lurid detail) the true high crimes & misdameanors of the Kempthorne Administration."

NOTE:
Not that this has anything to do with protecting our interior, but I did find it quite interesting that a Republican (you know, the political party with the direct line to God, unlike us pagan liberals) would be rumored to have a mistress who has borne a child by him! I'm SO disappointed! (And surprised also! Gosh! So much for Idaho and "family values"!)

Can someone please remind America why we fought the Revolution?

Six Degrees of Separation isn't enough

More of my head scratching...

Yes, I realize that it is a small world and getting smaller every day, but still! I am especially aware of how difficult it can be to separate friends/family from our businesses in small "worlds". I live in a small community which can have married couples, brothers, parent and child, buddies, etc. involved in conflicting interests which arise from their service or employment in city government or school districts, and so on. I realize that even going to the doctor may mean that you will see your mother-in-law's best friend... which means that whatever you tell the doctor may get back to the in-laws no matter what "confidentiality expectations" you may have. When you live in a rural area, this is to be expected. We do the best we can to prevent conflicts of interest, favoritism, and nepotism--but it does exist.

Knowing all this and accepting the reality of it does NOT mean that I can stomach all of the Bush connections related to Iraq, the elections, government positions, Halliburton, and so on. I am stunned at how Bush could place Mike Brown as head of FEMA and how he could even consider Harriet Meyers for the Supreme Court (didn't he learn anything from the Katrina fiasco?). The only real qualifications they had is that they supported Bush (think "Kool Aid"). And now, the Port Authority situation... we are being called paranoid if we question the wisdom of this act?? The links between Bush and UAE have concerned me greatly... they have long family and money ties and somehow have never been held accountable for their involvement in 9/11. Our citizens have been so numb that they think that Iraq and Saddam were responsible for 9/11 but don't even realize the connection between UAE and that terrorist attack! How dumb can we be? We've let this slide for almost FIVE years now... of COURSE, Bush thinks he can get away with it... how have we shown him any differently?

This administration is in bed with each other and with other wealthy powerbrokers. This paves the way for tyranny and protects them from the consequences of their actions. Check out the article posted at 43rd State Blues. Whether it is a hunting accident or a war that kills thousands or putting America's security at risk or a director incapable of directing his way out of a paper bag, these incestuous relationships are not acceptable and MUST be stopped.
