HASTERT: Remember this name...

Dennis Sastert is the Speaker of the House of the United States House of Representatives. You may recognize him as the insensitive jerk who suggested "bulldozing New Orleans"-- while other Americans were still focusing on the thousands of people screaming for water, for food, and for rescue. Great timing.

But what you might not be aware of is that he is also the one who takes credit for bailing out “Illinois farmers and ranchers struggling due to the drought.”

So, if you don't get rain, you deserve federal assistance. But if you get flooded out, it's not worth investing to rebuild? Does it have something to do with most farmers in Illinois are white and most victims of Hurricane Katrina are black? I'll let you come to your own conclusions on that.

But there is even more about Hastert that you should be aware of... the same person who doesn't think that one of the most vital port areas of the United States should be rebuilt is responsible for a $207 million "prairie highway" in his own district. Can anybody spell P-O-R-K?
